I have been volunteering at St Kilda Community Housing for over 2 years. As an Elwood local I enjoy giving back to my community. I recommend the organisation to potential volunteers and supporters.

I grew up in Northern Victoria, our family had dairy, sheep and cattle farms and my parents were keen sportspeople, they enjoyed running and table tennis. I picked up this attribute from them and my loves were Australian football, cricket, tennis and golf.

I was drafted to play football for North Melbourne as a 17-year-old, and spent 4 years with them. I played for Coburg in the old VFA, and Burnie in Tasmania. I finished my football playing days in Canberra with Tuggeranong and Weston creek.

I studied as a property valuer at RMIT in the Melbourne City Campus, and got my first job in this field in Hawthorn. My career took me to Canberra, where I worked in the Australian Valuation Office and later at Colliers International. I was a senior valuer specialising in development valuations for residential and commercial builders and developers. I then worked for myself, I was the first buyers advocate for property buyers in the ACT.

I lived and worked back in Northern Victoria, until 2020, as a property valuer which I enjoyed. Now living in Elwood I enjoy working part-time in garden maintenance and have been happy to contribute my knowledge, skills and experience to St Kilda Community Housing. I have assisted in several property decisions, using my background in property valuations, and regularly contribute to garden management and garden maintenance programs.
