Paying your rent
You need to pay your rent every week and keep it one week in advance. If you are away, you still need to pay your rent.
You can pay rent using:
- Centrepay
- Direct debit from your bank.
If you fall behind, we will contact you early to talk about your options.
If you are having trouble paying
If your situation changes and you cannot pay your rent, please speak to your Property Manager as soon as possible.
If your rent falls behind
If your rent is more than 7 days late, we will contact you.
You may receive a formal notice. This is part of the legal process, but it does not mean you have to leave straight away.
What happens next
We work with you to work to set up a repayment plan.
If we cannot reach an agreement
If you do not respond or do not make payments, we may apply to the tribunal (VCAT).
This is a formal step, but you will still have a chance to resolve the issue.
Our approach
We aim to:
- contact you early
- work with you
- avoid eviction where possible
Eviction is always the last step.
