It is finally happening: This week Madden House is opening, and our first residents will move in before Christmas.
After a huge collaborative effort — from Homes Victoria, the City of Port Phillip, VincentCare, Ngwala, our builders and consultants, donors, volunteers, and our team — we have delivered a project that shows what is possible when a community pulls together.
In a year marked by national and international challenges and community tensions, Madden House stands as a reminder of what we can achieve when we stay focused on solutions. The building has been widely praised for its design, sense of dignity, and warmth. It is small, yes — but it is mighty in its impact.
Most importantly, Madden House will provide permanent supportive housing for 26 people on the Port Phillip Zero list — people who have waited years for a safe, stable home. Their new beginning is our greatest achievement of 2025.
