St Kilda Community Housing has been quietly providing homes to many of our most disadvantaged locals for over forty years. We currently house more than 300 people, with this number set to rise in the coming months and years. We focus on singles on the lowest incomes, who often come directly from, or have experienced homelessness and rough sleeping. We run entirely on our very low rents and receive no ongoing funding from any source.
Our new strategic plan is directed towards the purchase of additional homes for very vulnerable people, and in improving our existing units into great homes. By partnering with like-minded people in our networks, and our colleagues in government, we have a plan to get more people into safe, affordable, permanent homes.
