This past weekend, the St Kilda Community Housing family came together to participate in the vibrant Midsumma Pride March, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to providing safe, inclusive housing for all members of our community. Our dedicated team of staff, volunteers, residents, and allies walked proudly behind our banner, celebrating diversity and reinforcing our message that everyone deserves a secure place to call home.
Housing Manager Sofie led our enthusiastic group through the streets of St Kilda, joined by a special four-legged participant – Huxley, our rescue pup, who stole hearts with his rainbow bandana and winning smile (we’re pretty sure he thinks the whole parade was organized just for his daily walk!). While the summer heat that day left our furry friend a bit under the weather, we’re happy to report he’s back to his bouncy, tail-wagging self now.
For over 40 years, St Kilda Community Housing has stood firm in our commitment to creating not just housing, but homes where people feel safe, accepted, and valued for who they are. The Pride March shows how maintaining inclusive spaces for both residents and staff is so valuable, recognizing that diversity makes our community stronger.
As we continue our mission to provide affordable and secure housing for people experiencing social disadvantage, we remain committed to fostering an environment where everyone can live authentically and proudly. Whether you have two legs or four (like our beloved Huxley), our doors are open to all who need a safe place to call home.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in this celebration of love, acceptance, and community spirit. Together, we’re building a more inclusive future for St Kilda, one home at a time.
